School Council

At the beginning of the year, every Year 6 child is given the opportunity to stand for the position of head boy/girl and prefects. They prepare speeches and present these to the school during a whole school assembly. Posters are then made by the candidates and displayed in the hall, as part of their campaign, in the run up to the elections. Elections take place, where every pupil and staff member have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidates. The children with the highest votes secure the positions of Head Boy and Head Girl and are supported in their roles by two elected deputies and twelve prefects.

As part of their role, the children in these positions of responsibility form the basis of our school council. They are role models for the school and help to make important decisions, such as, how to raise money for various charities we support or best use of school funds.
